Everyone likes finding a flaw in someone’s work but at Cinnamon you’ll be learning how to make a product work as it should and also provide great ideas for the development team on how to improve the application.

At Cinnamon, our QA testers come from all walks of life and this course will give an insight into the QA world in IT.
QA skills and tips are something you won’t be able to learn in schools nor colleges etc. and this course will provide a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in assuring quality of web and mobile applications.

Meet the mentors
All of the tutors have been in the quality assurance world for years, and not only do they know the ins and outs of the QA mindset, but they are also awesome at passing on the knowledge to juniors.
Curriculum
Welcome, participants! In the first week, you’ll be introduced to Cinnamon as a company, you’ll meet the mentors, learn about the tools, QA and development processes, your task and get a grip on a course overview, curriculum, and classes. We’re just warming up!
After you’re all set, we move on to introduction to QA as part of the development process. You’ll find out how the QA theory is applied in a real testing environment. We’ll go through methods, processes, and testing tools. You’ll learn how QA plans testing, what are test cases, how to report a bug etc.
In your second week, you’ll start testing on real mobile application using the theory and tools you’ve learned in the first week. Once you get familiar with QA processes specific for mobile testing, you’ll be assigned your first tasks that you’ll need to finish by the end of the course. You’ll review mobile design and compare it with the real application, prepare test cases, and do functional testing on both Android and iOS platforms.
Your third week will be focused on web testing and getting to know some interesting tools that are being used for web QA. We won’t be looking only into UI but also into what goes on behind the website: Network, Performance, Speed etc. Here you also might get some homework to do 🙂
Getting to know test automation tools and insight into Cypress for web testing. You’ll get an overview of different tools that can be used for automating tests and see how tests for web sites work and are set with Cypress.
FAQ
Just a few things, CV, Motivational letter, and a short assignment!
For the assignment, you must write a review of Cinnamon Agency’s website (no longer than one page) in PDF document that you will add to your application. Review can include comments about the user interface and user experience of the website, how as a user you would inspect the website, etc.
Any bugs found get you kudos from your mentors and a high 5! 😀
Applications without assignment won’t be taken into consideration.
Attendance is mandatory, and if the participant misses any class, he will not be able to complete the course. Course is organized in a way that every class lesson is independent.
Yes and no. You’ll need your personal laptop for tasks and web testing. Regarding mobile, you’ll be provided with mobile phones with pre-installed applications
The courses are conducted face-to-face in our Zagreb office.
The reason is the provided equipment can only be used in the office. Also, we believe that face-to-face classes are more efficient and more fun with mentors and colleagues.
Homework is mandatory because the tasks you’ll be given are an essential part of a QA job. The homework is necessary for getting a course certificate. But don’t worry, it won’t be like in high school. 🙂
You don’t need any prior QA experience but if you are a person with an eye for details, and finding flaws in other people’s work, then QA might be just for you.
Every graduate from Cinnamon College gains knowledge and experience in working on real projects.
Also, the college introduces you to the company environment and leaves the opportunity for potential internship and/or hiring.
